Today at the historic peak Shipka, Defense Minister Dimitar Stoyanov:
Bulgaria will have a future if we continue to combine youth with experience.
Today we see how many people are here, where the present and the future meet.
Here are the Graduates of Liberty and the representative units of the National Guard, along with formations from the 61st Brigade and the Second Brigade, which are the backbone of our army.
We must not overlook the student guard units, which are our future.
This year, the national celebrations were dedicated to the Bulgarian Army and the military profession.
The events brought together the Graduates of Freedom from the 20th century, active military units, and student guard squads in a unique celebration of the 145th anniversary of the memorable battles of 1877 that took place here during the Russo-Turkish Liberation War.
In memory of the deceased, a memorial prayer was conducted by His Eminence Metropolitan Gregory of Veliko Tarnovo.
Vice President Iliana Yotova and Minister Dimitar Stoyanov visited the personnel and military service members involved in the national information campaign “Be a Soldier,” aimed at promoting the military profession.
