The Student Guard Squad will be an inspiration for Pleven.

“Today is a celebration for Beronovtsi, today is a celebration for Pleven. This day is very special because today the flag of the Second Student Guard Unit in Bulgaria was consecrated and presented. Our goal is to keep the ‘fire’ alive in the children – to love our Homeland, to be proud to be Bulgarians. Because the guards represent the statehood and the image of Bulgaria to the world. I believe that despite the trials and challenges, we will preserve the Renaissance spirit to carve out a worthy place for our children in this colorful world. I am convinced that we will spare no effort to protect Bulgarian statehood,” shared Vanya Drazheva, the principal of Dr. Petar Beron Primary School, during today’s solemn consecration and presentation of the flag of the Second Student Guard Unit at the school.
She turned to Mrs. Yordanka Chavdarova, the founder of Bulgaria’s First Student Guard Squad from ten years ago, and expressed gratitude for her idea and determination to sustain its existence to this day, as we celebrate the establishment of yet another Bulgarian student guard squad. During the ceremony, Drazheva and Chavdarova exchanged plaques featuring the crests of their cities.
“Mr. Spartanski, patriotic education begins in the family, but the school and society must shape the patriotic worldview. With your help, the student guard unit will be an inspiration for Pleven. Thank you for your support!” Drazheva addressed the mayor.
The principal of Dr. Petar Beron Primary School once again asked Brigadier General Ilko Yordanov to nurture the children in the spirit of strength, valor, and honor.
“Dear students, this day is for you! Thank you for the enthusiasm with which you embraced this new endeavor for our school! Thank you for your dedication and the emotions you provide us with every day! Wear your guard uniforms with dignity and pride! And never forget the solemn promise you made today! For Pleven to thrive!” concluded Drajeva.
