On the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Bulgaria – March 3rd, Rositsa Kirova recognized young volunteers from the “Youth Guard Units” Association for their active civic engagement, patriotism, and contribution to preserving Bulgarian traditions.
Rositsa Kirova is the Chairperson of the Committee on Direct Citizen Participation, Petitions, and Interaction with Civil Society in the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria. In her address, she emphasized the importance of young people as bearers of the values of freedom, responsibility, and civic engagement.

Petko PetkovHe is from the town of Pavlikeni and holds the responsible position of commander of the Twelfth Student Guard Detachment. With his dedication, discipline, and strong sense of responsibility, he consistently contributes to preserving and promoting Bulgarian traditions, patriotic spirit, and guard values among the younger generation.
In his role as a commander, Petko demonstrated leadership, organization, and led by personal example, inspiring his associates toward activity and patriotism.
Besides his commitments to the squad, he is also a volunteer with the Association “Youth Guard Units,” where he participates in numerous community and volunteer initiatives. Through his activities, Petko Petkov establishes himself as an example of active civic engagement, public involvement, and a commitment to development and service for the benefit of the community.
Yoan TemelkovHe is a 20-year-old second-year law student at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski.” Born and raised in Sofia, he successfully combines his academic preparation in the legal field with an active civic stance and a strong social commitment.
Through his consistent volunteer work with the “Youth Guard Squad” Association and the “Touch the Rainbow” Association, Yoan contributes to the promotion of patriotic values among young people and the development of an active civil society.
As a volunteer with the Union of People with Disabilities in Bulgaria, he works to support people with disabilities, coordinating social initiatives and addressing specific administrative and daily challenges.
Ivona Ivanovafrom the 12th Student Guard Unit in Pavlikeni since its inception, and she is among the students who laid the foundations of its traditions and values. With her dedication and perseverance, she has contributed to building the spirit and authority of the unit from its very first days.
Over the years, he actively participated in rehearsals, ceremonial events, and public occasions, consistently demonstrating discipline, responsibility, and high moral standards. Until his graduation, he remained a loyal and dedicated member of the guard, contributing to the establishment of its spirit of teamwork and honor.
After her graduation, Ivona continues her active involvement with the organization, including participating in educational and cultural exchanges through the “Erasmus+” program. These initiatives provide her with the opportunity to meet inspiring individuals, develop new ideas, and share her art and talent. For her, being part of the group is not just participation in an organization—it’s being part of a large family to which she still belongs today.
Zlatomir MinkovHe is originally from the city of Veliko Tarnovo and is an active member of the “Youth Guard Units” Association. Since the establishment of the 9th Etar Student Guard Unit, he has had the honor of being its commander. With dedication and personal example, he contributes to the promotion of patriotic values among young people.
During his term, he actively participated in numerous initiatives and ceremonial events. These public activities were related to the patriotic education and civic engagement of young people. This work significantly contributed to the development of his leadership qualities, discipline, and strong sense of responsibility.
After completing his activities with the squad, Zlatomir continues his commitment to the organization as a volunteer. He participates in various national and international programs and initiatives aimed at developing, actively engaging, and establishing young people as a significant factor in public life.
Tsvetomir BaltovHe has been an active and dedicated member of the organization for two years. During this time, he has participated in a number of national and international projects, representing both the organization and Bulgaria with distinction.
Tsvetomir actively participates in various initiatives and events related to the youth guard units, demonstrating high levels of discipline, responsibility, and patriotism.
He is a 10th-grade student at the Vocational School of Electrical Engineering and Electronics in Plovdiv. With his commitment, volunteer work, and dedication to patriotic values, Tsvetomir Baltov is an example of an active and conscientious young person.
