Today, at “Svoboda” Square in Pavlikeni, a solemn ceremony was held to present the official flag to the 12th Student Guard Unit of “Bacho Kiro” Secondary School – Pavlikeni.

Twenty-five students from 9th to 12th grade at “Bacho Kiro” Secondary School in Pavlikeni earned the honor of wearing guard uniforms, which are exact replicas of the ceremonial military attire. Following an old royal tradition, Colonel Kyncho Ivanov, Commander of the National Guard Unit, the Mayor of Pavlikeni Municipality, Engineer Emanuil Manolov, Deputy Regional Governor of Veliko Tarnovo Gabriela Shilkova, Colonel Iliya Milushev, Advisor to the President, and the Director of “Bacho Kiro” Secondary School, Petya Nedelcheva, hammered nails into the handle of the flag to ensure it is stable and can be carried with dignity by the young guards. The flag was handed over to the Pavlikeni student squad by the standard-bearers of the National Guard Unit.

Twelve years after the formation of the first squad, Pavlikeni ranks among the twelve cities in the country that have their own young guards.
