началното училище „Д-р Петър Берон“ в град Плевен е наследник на ОУ „Г.С. Раковски“, създадено още преди 15 септември 1969 година. Първоначално разполага с 10 класни стаи, в шест от които се провеждат учебни занятия. Две от стаите са за полудневни детски градини. Има също учителска стая и занималня. С развитието си училището разполага с 6 асфалтирани спортни площадки и физкултурен салон, а дворът му е най-големият сред всички плевенски училища. През 1972 година завършва изграждането на допълнителна пристройка, като педагозите оставят послание към бъдещите поколения и колеги.

The medical office was established immediately after the school opened, while the dental office was created only in 1982. The school also has a speech therapy office. In this way, complete medical care for the students is ensured.
Over the years, the school management has aimed to update and modernize the material and technical resources of the school, creating favorable conditions for study and work for the teachers and students of “Dr. Petar Beron” Primary School. In the context of dynamic changes and a delegated budget, various projects related to the improvement of the educational process are successfully defended and developed, focusing on the additional education of children and youth, as well as modernizing the material base.
The school systematically works on enhancing teachers’ qualifications. A rich internal methodological work is developed, and postgraduate qualification courses are attended.
The first children’s choir was established when the school was founded. In 1980, the school choir, under the direction of Nikolay Popov, won a laureate title and a bronze medal at the 5th Republican Festival. A folk choir was also created. In less than two years of its existence, in 1983, the choir successfully passed the stages of the 6th Republican Festival, where it was awarded a laureate title and a gold medal.
In 1990, to mark 190 years since the birth of our school’s patron, the first and only issue of the school brochure “Beronovski Glas” was published. An art club was also established, with participants showcasing their own drawings in children’s exhibitions and biennials, for which they were awarded certificates and accolades. Various interest clubs have been formed at the school for children to participate in.
In February, a guard corner and the 2nd Youth Guard Unit were established at Dr. Petar Beron Primary School.
Currently, the students are divided into classes with an intensive focus on mathematics, Bulgarian language, English language, informatics, and other modern subjects.
Since 2020, the school has been on the list of innovative schools in Bulgaria.

Currently, the school educates 585 students from grades I to VII, although there are many more applicants. However, due to limited facilities, not all can be admitted.
Students from Dr. Petar Beron Primary School in Pleven participate in various competitions, contests, and other events in different fields, winning top places.
