They unveiled the flag of the first student guard unit in Pleven.

The flag of the country’s second student guard unit, established a few days ago at “Dr. Petar Beron” Primary School, was blessed and handed over with a solemn ritual in the Military Club hall in Pleven today. The ceremony was conducted in accordance with an old royal tradition.
Official guests at the event included the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Krasimir Karakachanov, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Tania Mihaylova, advisors to the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Plamen Uzunov and Nikolay Koprintov, the Commander of the National Guard Unit Brigadier General Ilko Yordanov, Tatiana Bozhinova – Deputy Regional Governor, the Mayor of Pleven Municipality Georg Spartanski, municipal councilors, public figures, cultural representatives, athletes, parents, and others.
After the ceremony of blessing the flag by priests from Pleven’s temples, the official guests were traditionally invited to hammer a nail into the flag’s handle. The flag was ceremoniously handed over by representatives of the National Guard to their young successors. The ceremony concluded with the solemn presentation of the flags of Bulgaria and the European Union, set to the song “My Country, My Bulgaria.”
Guided by the idea of keeping the desire to preserve our history alive and to revive traditions, the initiative to create the squad by Dr. Denislava Angelova, the president of the “Touch the Rainbow” association, and Mrs. Vanya Drazheva aims to instill in students a spirit of patriotism, love, and belonging to the homeland. The event is under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev.
